I was waiting to pick my son up from a Saturday morning club set in the grounds of the delightful Hopetoun House estate in South Queensferry. It has a lovely café which is also a dream for a photographer with large windows letting in a flood of light and muted, period colour walls. These two women were concentrating on a game of chess and having a bit of chat too. They looked so relaxed in each other's company. I asked if I could take their picture and they were fine so I took a few images, as discreetly as I could, and returned to my coffee.
